Association News

Members of the Orléans 5PBA would like to send our blessings to Harold Stoddart, the O5 tournament director, who recently lost his wife. Harold, please except our condolences.

Are you a senior bowler, 50 years and over? Do you like bowling? Do you like a little competition? If yes to all 3, why not enter our Senior Citizens Mixed Doubles and Singles roll-off on March 14th. The winning Junior couple, 50 to 64, and Senior couple will have a chance to win at the Provincial Finals on May 12th. Winners get: no winter travel, don't have to go through Toronto, one night free accommodation, an Orléans 5PBA bowling shirt, if you don't have one, and $ 75 to pay travel costs. The cost if you bowl in a Senior League only: $5 for membership and $ 5 to register, contact Jonathan Piché or an Orléans 5PBA executive, and then lineage ($12) at the roll-off. The odds of winning are good: last year, we had only 13 competitors. This could be your year! See you in March!

The Holiday Classic house roll-off saw another exciting finish. The Friday Niners 2nd team jumped out to a large early lead and then fell back to the pack after the second game. This gave a team from the Highway 17 league the chance to blow by the rest of the competition to claim victory. The three top spots changed a number of times, until a second team from Highway 17 came second and there was a two way tie for third. The winning team included long time bowlers Ellen Bedard and James Bedard, along with new bowlers Lisa Ryan, Richard Primeau and Kevin Ayotte. The team chose Mike Bayley to coach them to Provincial Victory.
